Mental Health
Hi all, so for the time being (the remainder of March it looks like), I’ll be focusing on my mental health and working on writing sporadically. One of the major reasons that I left the accounting profession is that it was too stressful for me and was exacerbating my already existing depression. I’m in a program for it now though, and it’s been helping a bit. It’s going to take a little while to get everything balanced out, so until then I’m going to be focusing on that.
Poetry
Having said that, I am working on some poetry fairly regularly as I work through my feelings. I’ve been posting those in the Poetry section of the website so far. Eventually, I think the plan is to put things up on Patreon or something similar initially and then post them on the website after a period of time. I’ll probably also eventually put everything together into a compilation and sell it as a book as well.
Prose
I plan to resume working on Novels and Short Stories at the end of March/beginning of April. There will be a similar path for publication of short stories, i.e. up on Patreon or something similar then up on the website. For novels, however, I am going to try to get them traditionally published first. Barring success with that, I might try doing a Kickstarter or similar campaign in order to raise the funds necessary for my family and I to make it by for the year. We shall see. I’d like to avoid publishing on the larger electronic publishing sites because of moral objections to their methods of operation and treatment of their workers.
Blog and Website Updates
As for blog posts, I plan to post at least once per week if possible. That’ll be true especially after March. During March, I’m going to try to keep to that schedule to update on my writing process and how things are going with the poetry and any other writing that I’m doing. The website will continue to get updated as writing projects finish or come up.
