What to Expect
My time in taking care of my mental health has finally winded down, and I’m getting ready to get started with writing full time. So here’s what you all can expect starting next week.
I’ve already started working on both a poem for the week and a flash fiction story. So I plan on finishing those up by Friday and posting them for free on both Patreon and the website. I think I’ll start posting behind the paywall starting the second/first week of April.
As for the novel, I plan on starting to put about four hours per day into it with a goal of 2000 words per day. I have about 25,000 words into it already, and my goal is 80,000 words. So I should be finished with the rough draft in about 27 or 28 days. So, in a month I’ll be finished with the rough draft and start working on editing. I’m not really sure how long editing will take, but I’m hoping for about the same wordcount goal of 2000 per day. So, if that holds true, I should have an edited draft ready in about 40 days or almost a month and a half. After the edited draft is done, I plan on trying to find an agent, and I really don’t know how long that process will take.
As far as social media is concerned, I’m going to aim for a post a day on the major ones like Facebook and Twitter. I might have a post a week on the more graphic intensive platforms like Pinterest and Instagram. That’s only because I’m really not as savvy with the graphics stuff as I am with the written word. So, I’ll probably focus more on the writing intensive platforms.
That’s what I’m planning for Fiction du Coeur in the next week at least and going forward! If anyone has any comments or ideas about that schedule, I’d like to hear feedback!
